Budget of New Mahi Gram Panchayat for the year 2026-27
The first complete budget of the new governing body led by Mr. Arjun Pavithran has been presented in New Mahi Gram Panchayat. The budget points out that after thirty years of population planning, panchayats have become integral parts of people's lives. Priority is given to innovative projects to meet new challenges such as environmental protection, waste management, climate change, lifestyle diseases, and elderly care. It is assessed that the previous governing bodies have successfully implemented several development projects despite the prevailing financial constraints. The support of the state government has been of great help in the development of the panchayat. However, the budget emphasizes the need to increase own income to achieve financial self-sufficiency. MLA and MP funds and various government schemes play a crucial role in the development of the panchayat. Plastic alternative product unit, renovation of Peringadi mini stadium, health sub-center, construction of school building, drinking water projects etc. are pointed out as major achievements. Infrastructure developments including high mast lights and MCF building have been implemented. Jaljeevan Mission is presented as the biggest development project in the panchayat. The aim is to provide drinking water to all households and find a permanent solution to the water shortage. Although people are facing difficulties due to the destruction of roads as part of the project, the governing body assures that timely road reconstruction works will be carried out. The main message of the budget is that equal importance will be given to welfare projects along with development works.
