Trees and branches standing in a dangerous position on the land of private individuals within the limits of New Mahe Grama Panchayat should be cut and removed at their own expense and responsibility to prevent danger to the life or property of individuals during the rainy season. Otherwise, the owners will be responsible for all the damages arising out of this as per the Disaster Management Act, 2005. As per the WP(C) No. 32757/2022 of the Hon'ble Kerala High Court, private lands that are overgrown without proper maintenance should be cleaned.
